Tone generator and amplifier probe units are included in the kit
Tone Generator has built-in RJ11/12 and alligator clip lead sets
Single tone setting and a continuity test mode
Adjustable volume on the probe
For use on de-energized copper cables
The 62-144 is our basic Tone & Probe Kit which includes both the Amplifier Probe and Tone Generator units that can be used to identify or trace a cable by sending an analog tone signal on de-energized copper conductors from one end of a cable to the other. The amplifier probe is used to make the tone signal audible at the other end of the cable, or along the path of an exposed cable, allowing identification and location of the cable under tone. This kit includes the core features and functionality to trace cables for users who occasionally troubleshoot and locate cables and are looking for a cost-effective, easy-to-use basic unit. 9V batteries are included.
Tone Generator:
Generates a single analog alternating warble tone
Fixed lead set with 31” leads for improved connection range
2 Alligator clips for direct copper connections or unterminated cables
Alligator clips may also be used to connect to coax connector housing or pin
RJ11 plug for direct connection to voice and most standard RJ45 jacks
Continuity verification testing with alligator clips
9V battery for the Toner is included
Amplifier Probe
Audibly amplifies the tone signal on the cable under test
Designed to identify and trace wires or cables within a group without damaging the insulation
Works with any analog tone generator to identify wires
